Can the general public obtain PAS compensation information?

PAS compensation information is available for purchase by the general public unless otherwise stated. Exceptions occur when private studies are commissioned by a client company. These private studies are made available only to participating companies.

How confidential is the information?

All compensation information gathered by PAS is compiled, formatted and described in ways that provide complete anonymity to participating companies. PAS never provides information on individual companies.

How is compensation data collected?

PAS sends survey forms (via U.S. Mail) to construction/engineering companies across the United States and some foreign countries. These survey forms are completed under the direction of a company officerand signed by the person who completes the information. PAS uses only compensation information submitted by legitimate contractor or engineering firms. Unsigned forms or forms with no company reference are not used.

Do participants receive free information?

Usually, survey participants receive a brief summary of national information free of charge. However, participants receive substantial discounts on the full survey reports themselves. Most particpants purchase the survey because they need the detail for wage, salary and benefit decisions.

When are surveys conducted?

PAS annual surveys are conducted at various times of the year. Usually the executive surveys are done in November, the staff surveys are completed in February and Craft surveys are compiled in June. Specialty surveys can occur any time during the year and information is added to all survey databases during the year for the creation of special reports for our clients. How up-to-date is PAS wage information?

The wage information found in PAS public surveys always has an effective date of the information for the year. Unlike BLS data, all PAS surveys are conducted and compiled yearly.

Can PAS survey information be found in public libraries?

To our knowledge, public libraries do not provide our survey information. However, PAS does provide substantial discounts to associations like the AGC, NECA, MCA, etc.,and some chapters do maintain up-to-date reports for their members. Check with your local association.

How can a firm participate in PAS surveys?

Call or write our PAS offices and ask to be put on the participant list. Any firm that has purchased a PAS product in the last two years is automatically sent participation packets. However, these packets may not be addressed to the proper person in your organization. Can we be included in the PAS Hyperlink Library?

The only requirements for being a part of our PAS hyperlink library are that your web site exists; you operate a legitimate business; and, your web site provides information about some segment of the construction or engineering industry.

Can just one title be purchased or must we buy the whole survey?

Yes, PAS will supply single title wage information in the form of a special report. The cost of each special report is (call for pricing) and must be prepaid prior to email, fax or U.S. Post by VISA or MC or check.

Can I just find out what my wage range should be over the phone?

Yes, PAS will assist individual professionals from time to time to establish average pay for one specific title. This service is provided strictly at the discretion of PAS personnel. Cost is incurred, however, if we are asked to email, fax or mail wage information.

Does PAS have a return policy?

Excluding wage and benefit reports (surveys), PAS will accept returns on publications if notified within 10 days of the purchaser' s receipt of the publication. All returns are assessed a shipping and restocking fee of $25.

Are survey subscriptions available?

Yes, contractors that complete the PAS survey forms are eligible to purchase the surveys in which they participate for a special participant rate -- about 70% less than the non-participant rate.
